About the slippery of the grass, from PA:

Wimbledon Organizers cited the wet conditions at the start of the game as a factor in the apparently slippery grass of the All England Club this year.

Several players fell, especially under the roofs of the first and center courts. Both Serena Williams and Adrian Mannarino were forced to withdraw from the game after slipping.

Williams injured her leg early in the game against Ariksandra Sasnovic. This may be her last appearance at Wimbledon.

At the same time, Mannarino limped out of the game due to a right knee injury in the last game against Roger Federer. The two sets went one by one.
At the beginning of the game, when the grass was at its highest, it was not uncommon to see players slipping, and the prolonged rains on Monday and Tuesday exacerbated this situation.
The All England Club said in a statement: “The preparations for the grass pitch are exactly the same as in previous years, with meticulous attention.

“Each grass court was checked by the Grand Slam supervisor, referee’s office and the court team before the start of the game. In two days of two weeks, they were satisfied with the conditions and cleared the court for the game.

“The weather conditions during the opening two days were the wettest weather we have experienced in the past ten years, which caused the roofs of Centre Court and Stadium One to close for a long time.
“This is when the herbs are at their most luxuriant and green, which does add extra moisture to the natural surface. As each game progresses, the stadium will continue to be stable.

“The field team and the Sports Turf Research Institute take hardness readings every morning to ensure that the court has the right humidity level and the game is played consistently.

“Our long-serving site team has experienced almost all possible combinations of weather conditions. They are always aware of and using the latest grass technology to prepare for various weather conditions and react to current conditions every day.

“We will continue to monitor these readings and adjust our grass care plan appropriately.”

The good news for organizers and players is that the forecast for the rest of the week is much better. Williams did not hold a press conference on Tuesday. Instead, he issued a statement: “I had to quit today after a right leg injury. I feel very sad. My love and gratitude is what makes it so meaningful on Center Court. The fans are with the team.

“Today, when I walked around on the court, I felt the extraordinary warmth and support of the crowd, which meant the whole world to me.”
