Liam Ryan may face a fine from the league after acting on Saturday night due to “extreme frustration”.
West Coast forward Liam Ryan (Liam Ryan) may face AFL economic sanctions after the birdie next to him flips Lost to Essendon on Saturday night.
With less than a minute left in the game, Ryan and Mason Redman had a fierce one-on-one match, as the Bombers defender snatched the ball from Ryan and crossed the boundary line.
Redman then let Ryan, who was still on the ground, press his knees against his ribs, prompting the West Coast goalkeeper to stand up and make a brief protest against Redman.

Then the players separated, and Ryan saw his middle finger in the live broadcast.
It is unclear to whom Ryan was showing his gesture at the time.
Herald Sun reporter Jon Ralph said on Fox Footy’s Saturday Stretch that Ryan could get a “little fine” from the AFL.
“He just flipped the bird over there in extreme frustration.
“I’m not saying this was a shocking behavior.
“Maybe AFL will consider fined him $1,000… this is not an unsolved case.”
Ralph pointed out that Richmond superstar Dustin Martin was fined $2,500 by the AFL for making abusive gestures to the Giants opponents in a game in 2019, including saluting the middle finger.
