Under the lockdown in Sydney, the gym owner’s business “really affected”

Ben Lucas, the owner of Flow Athletic Gym, said his business was “really affected” under Sydney’s lockdown, and the upcoming support plan “sounds not enough.”

“We promised our employees from the beginning that we will do our best to get them always paid in full, but the business is very difficult and we can only hold on for so long,” he said.

“We want to serve our employees and our community, but it is really difficult for the government and this time to do so.

Mr. Lucas told Sky News that when it was blocked for the second time, his business was still recovering from the first blockade.

“We had to close, we were moved outdoors, and then when we moved outdoors, these groups were closed,” he said.

“So we may have fallen by 60%.”

He said that returning to the “previously complete JobKeeper” would be one of the only ways many small businesses like his own “can get out of the predicament.”
