The Victorian government is “simple and clear” about the virus strain

The advertiser’s Caleb Bond said that the Victorian government was “simplified and straightforward to spread fear” after claiming that a potentially more virulent COVID-19 strain was spreading in Victoria. The Australian Epidemic Peak Advisory Group found that the COVID-19 strain at the center of the outbreak forced Melbourne into the second week of the lockdown. It did not spread faster than other variants of the virus, nor did it spread in new and unexpected ways.
