Damon Johnston, the Victorian editor of The Australian, said that during public voting during the lockdown, the Andrews government used taxpayer money to raise “very political” issues.
During the 112-day lockdown in Melbourne, Labor Party strategist and QDOS chief John Armitage was ordered to conduct a large-scale poll of public sentiment at the expense of taxpayers.
Mr. Johnston revealed the story under the Freedom of Information Act.
“In the past five years, QDOS has paid more than 2 million U.S. dollars, and now more than 1 million U.S. dollars has been handed over to QDOS, without even going through a competitive bidding,” he told Sky News host Peta Credlin.
“Tomorrow we will reveal the exact reason why the government decided to do this.”
