Sydney restrictions may be extended

New South Wales recorded 35 new cases on Monday — the state’s new daily high for coronavirus updates — and 18 new cases appeared overnight.

The blockade affecting Greater Sydney will end at 11:59 pm on Friday, July 9, but Governor Gladys Berejiklian told reporters this morning that the blockade “is having the desired effect so far… but what remains worrying is that There are still many cases that are infectious in the community.”

Ms Berejiklian said she hopes this will be the last time Sydney residents have been locked down before being vaccinated in most parts of New South Wales, but “this pressure is different from what we have experienced”.

“If you look at other jurisdictions around the world, we will find that you can’t let it leave you. Although we have the best contact tracker in the world, and I believe it’s providing our population with the right ones at the right time Set, but we must be aware that the kind of pressure we experience during the pandemic is new.

Even if the lockout ends, stricter restrictions will remain

The governor said that even if the lockdown in the Greater Sydney area ends, residents of NSW may have to continue to live under stricter restrictions.

She said: “I predict that when we really get out of the lockdown, life will not necessarily be the same as before we entered the lockdown.

“But the record of New South Wales has not burdened our citizens unless we absolutely must add, which is of course our attitude to move forward.

Ms. Berejiklian said that the highly contagious Delta variant may be the main strain. She said that more people need to be vaccinated before people can “live as freely as we want.”

Health officials are concerned about reports on Tuesday that SummitCare in Baulkham Hills has another positive case-the third employee of the nursing home has tested positive. Five residents there are now infected with the virus.

Also worth noting was the party held at Waterloo Meriton Suites on Saturday night, which was attended by 13 NRL players. The New South Wales Department of Health is investigating.

Violations of the state’s coronavirus health order may affect whether Sydney will reopen on time.

The Deputy Commissioner of the New South Wales Police said on Tuesday morning that on Sunday alone, New South Wales had received more than 1,000 reports from people who “warned the police for violations of orders.”

He said that 74 notices of infringement were issued on Monday, but that number should be kept in context.

Coronacast host Norman Swan (Norman Swan) said Tuesday morning that today’s numbers are important to determine whether the lockdown ends on time, but they are not all.

He told the Australian Broadcasting Corporation: “I think the number of people who have been circulating before being diagnosed as positive is not so much the number of cases as the number of cases.”

Professor Tony Blackley, an epidemiologist at the University of Melbourne, said that this number needs to be zero before the Greater Sydney area can safely escape the lockdown.

He said: “For the lockdown to succeed, we really need to reduce the number of reported cases in the community to zero.”

Professor Blakely said that lifting the lockdown when there are still contagious cases in the community may make the epidemic “take off” again.

He said: “If we open up restrictions at that time, they will take off again…this is the manifestation of the virus.” He added that this poses a risk not only to New South Wales, but also to other parts of Australia.

He said that if he took the position of Chief Health Officer Dr. Kerry Chant, he would be “a little worried” that the number did not drop.
