A family in eastern Sydney was fined a hefty fine for ignoring the city’s strict Covid-19 regulations and crossing the state.
A man and woman from Sydney’s eastern suburbs reportedly traveled in New South Wales for nearly three hours. Despite strict compliance with the stay-at-home order, they were still fined.
A 56-year-old man from Paddington and a 22-year-old woman from Maroubra were fined A$1,200 each on Saturday after being found by the police. Hunters allegedly located in northwestern Sydney Area.

“This family has received a notice of infringement, and any family that travels outside the metropolitan area and violates public health orders will be affected by this situation.”
Mr. Worboys said that residents of New South Wales have proven “very willing” to do things on their neighbors, and the traffic and senior patrol police are “very aware” of what people might violate during school holidays.
“They will use their mobile technology to inspect people and vehicles, and look for places that need to be inquired,” he said.
The Hunter Valley police received information that the three participants in the horse racing event of a pony club in Denman were from Sydney. Upon arrival, they found that the couple and a 13-year-old girl were not wearing masks.
Further investigation revealed that despite the strict stay-at-home orders issued by the state government, the group allegedly traveled nearly three hours from the eastern suburbs of Sydney.
They were each fined $1,000 for violating the order and $200 for not wearing a mask, and the girl was warned.
The New South Wales Police issued 15 violations overnight.
As the number of Covid-19 cases is still high, the stay-at-home order was extended to all areas of Greater Sydney, Blue Mountains, Central Coast and Wollongong on Saturday.
New South Wales confirmed another 30 local infections on Sunday, all related to the Bondi infection group, but 11 of them are already in isolation.
