One of Australia’s largest online betting companies suffered a massive blackout during another busy sports weekend.
On the night of the third test between the Kangaroos and the French team, Sportsbet suffered a massive blackout on Saturday as the AFL and NRL games were in full swing.
Punters who tried to access the company’s app or website received a message informing them of the crash.
“Sorry, we are temporarily unable to act. We are working hard to get back on track as soon as possible,” the company’s message reads
Users inquire about incidents via social media, which means that they cannot place new bets, nor can they view pending bets.
Betfair, a subsidiary of Sportsbet’s parent company Flutter Entertainment, posted on social media that the interruption means that Betfair will not provide NRL live markets in the UK.
After going offline sometime after 5pm (Australian Eastern Standard Time), Sportsbet’s website resumed normal transmission before 10pm on Saturday night. After the website was back online, users continued to experience difficulties in using the application.
The company has not issued a statement detailing the cause of the power outage.
