Southwest Airlines’ ground flight “system problems” across the United States

Passengers of Southwest Airlines faced long-term airport and flight suspension from June 14th to 15th. The airline reported system problems that caused network-wide flights to be interrupted. According to the FAA’s announcement on June 15, due to “technical problems”, all Southwest Airlines flights in the US airspace have been suspended. A video taken by Krystal Moran shows a long line outside the southwest ticket counter at Seattle-Tacoma Airport in Washington. According to FlightAware, more than 1,500 Southwest flights were delayed on June 14, 45 of which were cancelled. On June 15, as of late afternoon, FlightAware reported that Southwest Airlines had more than 480 cancellations and more than 1,200 flight delays.
