The governor of Florida, Ron DeSantis, has banned public schools in the state from studying controversial critical racial theory because he claims it teaches children to “hate our country.” “Florida’s education system is designed to create opportunities for our children,” he wrote on Twitter. “Critical racial theory teaches children to hate our country and hate each other. “This is nationally recognized racism and has no place in Florida schools. “Florida has joined other states in the United States, such as Idaho, Arkansas, Louisiana, and Tennessee, all of which prohibit students from studying critical racial theories.
