New South Wales Governor Gladys Berejiklian has confirmed that 98 new Covid-19 cases have been detected in the past 24 hours.

She said that New South Wales has recorded 98 cases of community transmission, 20 of which are infectious in the community.

Approximately 61 people are related to known cases or clusters—43 are household contacts and 18 are close contacts—and the source of infection in 37 cases is under investigation.

“Remember, 20 is a number we are very keen to promote,” she said.

“We need to stay ahead of this number to reduce the number of cases in the community. The closer we get to this number, the sooner we can end the lockdown.”
