Porthcawl RNLI lost the puppy Ollie for three hours on the sea in Porthcawl, Wales on July 17. Just after 8 in the morning, its owner reported that the Springer Spaniel was missing after swimming in Newton Beach in Porthcawl. The lifeboat crew began their mission in the surrounding waters. After initially returning to the shore hoping that Ollie could swim to safety, they set off for the second time and finally found the dog at the bottom of a nearby cliff. This video shows the moment Ollie was taken to safety after being spotted by a kayaker, and reminded the team that a volunteer commented that the little guy “looks in good condition and is very thirsty “. Simon Emms, the helm of Porthcawl RNLI, said: “Ollie has spent more than 3 hours at sea when he was discovered, and is about 3 miles away from where he was first launched, which is incredible.” He added: “He seemed very happy to meet us and enjoy the journey back to Porthcawl in a lifeboat.” Image source: Porthcawl RNLI via Storyful
