Two small planes collided in mid-air near Denver, USA. One plane was almost torn in half and the pilot of the other plane was forced to land on the plane with a parachute for a safe landing. Officials said it is worth noting that no one was injured.
According to the National Transportation Safety Board and the Southern Metropolitan Firefighting Organization, the two planes were preparing to land at a small regional airport on the outskirts of Denver when they collided in the early morning.
“Each of these pilots now needs to buy a lottery ticket,” said John Batman, Arapaho County Sheriff’s deputy. “I don’t remember anything like this-especially everyone walking away. I mean, this is the most magical part of it.”

June Cvelbar told KUSA TV that she witnessed the crash while walking in Cherry Creek State Park.
“I saw two planes in the sky. I saw a bigger green plane. I thought it was a towed plane, and I thought it was a glider that was towed away. I heard the sound, but didn’t realize the two. The plane collided.” She told KUSA in an email.
Verba said she saw the green plane flying down, and soon after seeing the smaller plane deploying its parachute. She said that she initially thought it was a training session.
“When I realized the small plane was descending, I ran towards it. The pilot and his passengers came,” Cvelbar said.

The pilot was the only person on the twin-engine Fairchild Metroliner to land at the Centennial Airport, despite the severe damage to the tail part. The aircraft is owned by a Colorado-based company called Key Lime Air, which operates cargo aircraft.
Batman said a pilot and a passenger were on another plane, a Cirrus SR22 single-engine plane, which released a red and white parachute and floated on the safe landing ground of a house near Cherry River State Park. .
