Sky News host Alan Jones said that given its COVID restrictions, it is no exaggeration to say that the Tokyo Olympics will go down in history as “extraordinary.”
Mr. Jones said: “I think the athletes…they will compete without crowds. If there are a few spectators, they will be banned from cheering.”
“Athletes are not allowed to mix with other foreign athletes in the Olympic Village. When they eat in the cafeteria, a plastic barrier separates them from their teammates.
“It’s like a prison, a very frustrating thing.
“Many people would call it’COVID-safe’, I call it government-induced paranoia against the virus. According to the World Health Organization, more than 99% of cases are classified as mild cases, not Alan Jones .”
