New South Wales is expected to have more exposure locations, among which Joh Bailey Salon and Lyfe Cafe have attracted much attention

After recording as many as 22 new cases in New South Wales, dozens of new exposure points were added on Friday, several of which were related to a busy coffee shop.

After the city’s Covid-19 outbreak escalated on Friday, a busy Chinese restaurant in Barangaroo, Sydney was found to be closely related to a known infection.

As 22 new cases have been reported and parts of the capital of New South Wales have been locked down for a week, venues across Sydney have been continuously added to the exposure list.

The new locations include a fitness room in Bondi and two bars in central Sydney, and the exposure time of Lyfe Cafe has been extended.

Anyone who has been to the Lotus Barangaroo restaurant and sat indoors or outdoors between 12:30 pm and 3 pm on Sunday, June 20 is considered a close contact of a known case and must be immediately Tested and quarantined for 14 days.

A dozen additional venues were added on Friday afternoon, including BWS in Cecil Hill, Woolworths in Randwick and David Jones in Burwood. Nearly ten train trips have also been added as temporary contacts.

The complete list and timing are detailed below.

Of the 22 confirmed cases announced on Friday, a popular Bondi cafe was linked to 3 positive cases.

On Thursday evening, the Lyfe Cafe in Bondi was added to the list of exposed locations. Chief Health Officer Dr. Kerry Chant explained that the cafe was related to a case in the Joh Bailey Hair Salon.

She said: “The investigation found that one person who was infected on June 15 and 16 was the source of infection at the Joh Bailey hairdresser in Double Bay, the Fresh Nails salon in Westfield Bondi Junction and the Lyfe cafe in Bondi.”

“Close contacts of this person subsequently introduced the infection to the Tropicana Cafe.

Explainer: Answers to questions about Sydney lockdown rules

“I expect to find more cases in the next few days, and I urge all customers and employees to be tested and quarantined between June 15 and 23.

“We are concerned (that is) more than 900 customers who are present or may be contacts may be infected.

“We have contacted these people… when we see these cases in the next few days, they are all in isolation.”

Dr. Chant said she is also concerned that a case identified on Thursday went to two gyms at the time of the infection-Fitness First Platinum in Bondi Junction on June 21 and Fitness First Spring St on June 22.

“People who have attended (those gyms) should check the affected time, be tested and quarantined as instructed,” Dr. Chant said.

A large number of new exposure sites were listed on Thursday night.
