After the failure of the Labor Party by-election, the last step in the reorganization of the top leadership team of the Labor Party was that Keir Starmer appointed an adviser from the Blair and Brown era as his chief of staff.
Sam White was Alistair Darling’s special adviser when he was prime minister, and he will be the leader of the opposition office from September.He will succeed Morgan Maxweeney, who was appointed labor Returning Officer.
White, 46, was Darling’s longest-serving adviser during former Prime Minister Gordon Brown’s tenure as prime minister and worked for Tony Blair when he was in the cabinet.
In his new role, McSweeney will work with campaign coordinator Shabana Mahmood.
Starmer said in announcing the new appointment that White “brought a wealth of experience from both inside and outside the government.” He stated that Morgan would be responsible for “a modern, efficient, and winning campaign in the next election.”
In the Chesham and Amersham by-elections last month, the Labour Party won only 1.6% of the vote and lost the deposit, and Starmer began to reorganize its office. Prior to this, Hartlepool, the former Labor Party headquarters, lost to the Conservative Party in May.
Despite concerns about the performance of the Labour Party in the Bartley and Spoon by-elections earlier this month, the weak victory of Kinglid Butte eased the pressure on the Labour Party leaders.
Stammer said on Saturday: “I am very happy to be able to announce the latest changes to the team as we prepare for the next election.
“Morgan brings a wealth of electoral experience and strategic judgment to the role of election coordinator. He will ensure that we carry out a modern, efficient and winning campaign in the next election.
“I have worked with Sam before. I know that when we communicate our message to the whole country at conferences and other places, he brings a wealth of experience both inside and outside the government to my office.”
