A man was taken to hospital after being bitten by a shark on a popular beach, the second attack in Australia this week.
A shark attacked a man near a tourist hotspot in northern Western Australia.
At 11:15 on Friday morning, an unknown shark bit the man near Kundong Beach, north of Broome.
The 40-year-old man was then taken to Cable Beach by boat, and an ambulance took him to Broome Hospital.
His arm was lacerated, but it was not a life-threatening injury.
The Ministry of Primary Industries and Regional Development stated that it is cooperating with local authorities.
DPIRD said: “More information will be provided as it becomes available.”
This is the second shark attack in Australia this week.
Mark Sanguinetti, 59, was killed by 4.5 million white sharks at Tonkari Beach near Foster on the north-central coast of New South Wales on Tuesday morning while he was surfing.
He saw the shark and tried to warn others, then the animal opened him and bit him on the upper right of his thigh.
Charlie Cernoboriwas, 58, was killed by a bull shark on Cable Beach on a surfboard in November.
He was bitten on the upper thigh and hand.
The deadly attack was the first attack on a famous beach in nearly three decades.
