British media celebrity Piers Morgan said: “They should have quit. This is the Olympic final, not a tea party. You cannot’share’ the gold medal.”
Belarus’s Maksim Nedasekau also broke the national record with 2.37 million, but missed part of the gold medal due to an earlier failure and won the bronze medal.
For 30-year-old Bashim, it completed the bronze medal at the 2012 London Olympics and the silver medal at the Rio Olympics five years ago. Tanberg won Olympic gold medals in both the 2016 indoor world championship and European championship titles. Although there were no spectators in this pandemic-affected Olympics, people still celebrated enthusiastically.
