His second outing on the track improved his P12 in free practice 1, only 0.336 seconds behind session leader and former Red Bull teammate Max Verstappen.
Ricardo is also in good shape on social media, as McLaren made a brazen blow on Mercedes star Valtery Bottas, who was fined for slipping in the pit lane during practice. Three.

After a season of ups and downs, Ricardo is satisfied with his speed in training.
“It feels okay…I know it’s only Friday, but I’m sure I would rather be in the top three than ten, because we have a lot of work to do tonight,” Ricardo Say.
“I think we did some fine-tuning, but of course we were not lost. Actually, we are far from lost, so I think we are in a good place.
“Obviously, the low fuel speed is good this afternoon. I think we must have picked up something since the morning. High fuel, compared to low fuel, you may find more, but it is definitely a fruitful afternoon.”
Ricardo has struggled to find the best operating window for his McLaren throughout the season and has repeatedly stated that since leaving Renault at the end of 2020, he has struggled to adapt to the new machine.
But he was in this area during practice-this may be related to his diet before driving.
“I had three schnitzels last night, but they are like small schnitzels, so they are like a schnitzel, but I think I made another one tonight,” Ricardo said.
“Austria is like a real schnitzel theme, and then when we go to Monza (in Italy), it’s always pizza. I’m not saying this is a diet that I will forgive young and aspiring athletes, but for me It seems to work, and I get a lot of joy and happiness from this type of cuisine.
“So, if it makes me a tenth (one second) more in the car, purely for enjoyment, so be it!”
