At first, Churchill’s court’s property was bulldozed and a house was built in its place for the children of the supplier to move.

But after they moved, the owners refurbished to add a garage, a metal frame to support future vertical expansion (if needed), and a separate unit with bedroom, living space and kitchen

As owners prepare to move on, the unusual increase is accelerating to break local price records.

Buxton’s agent Todd Dixon said that selling the home at a guide price of US$6.85 million to US$7.35 million would “break” the suburb’s high of US$6.3 million.

“This is a merged block. It is two separate titles, but now it’s just one,” Mr. Dixon said.

“But they renovated Churchill’s (court) house and turned it into a large garage.”

But as the backyard fence was removed to take full advantage of the northwest direction, this 1,343-square-meter plot of land has a significant appeal as a private oasis, “just like you are in the Whitsundays resort”.
