Deputy Prime Minister Barnaby Joyce said that the 70% vaccine target of the National Cabinet could be achieved by the end of the year because he urged Australians to get vaccinated.
Prime Minister Scott Morrison provided a way to get rid of COVID-19, suggesting that Australia can reach a 70% vaccination rate by the end of 2021.
Mr. Morrison said that after the Doherty Institute provided the vaccination model, the National Cabinet on Friday had agreed to its four-phase plan for COVID-19.
Mr. Joyce said: “From now until Christmas, we have the ability to basically achieve this ratio, about 70%.”
The Deputy Prime Minister told Sky News Australia that he hopes this number will be “higher” and said that “any vaccine is better than the risk of no vaccine”.
“I know people have concerns about AstraZeneca, but let’s do it well,” he said.
“Your chance of dying from AstraZeneca is one in a million, and your chance of dying from driving is about a thousand times.”
