Customers of ANZ, Westpac and Commonwealth Bank have all been affected by the mobile app interruption, and the cause of the problem has not been determined.

A major telecommunications issue is believed to prevent customers of some major banks in Australia from accessing their accounts through mobile apps.

Customers of Commonwealth Bank, ANZ and Westpac seem to have been affected by the interruption and cannot log in to their accounts via mobile apps.

A spokesperson for the Commonwealth Bank media said that they are working to resolve the issue but are not sure when it will be corrected.

“This seems to be a problem with the telecommunications company,” the spokeswoman told NCA NewsWire.

“This issue affects not only Comm Bank, but also other financial institutions.

“We are working hard to correct it.”

The Commonwealth Bank also responded to an online tweet about the issue by tech guru Trevor Long.

Mr. Long said there may be several reasons for the power outage, although he admitted that it was just an educated guess.

“For those who want to know. I can now think of several “reasons” (given that we don’t know anything at this stage),” he wrote.

“1/ CyberAttack on individual sites

“2/ The shared service provider is interrupted (may be a DNS host or similar).”
