2021 Tokyo Olympics: Live visits bring the Olympics to regional communities

“Many children in these communities will be inspired by seeing Aboriginal Olympians. Especially in remote communities where the opportunities are different from other parts of Australia. AOC CEO Mark Carroll hopes that the next group of upcoming Aboriginal athletes will have the opportunity to represent their people and culture in their hometown in Brisbane in 2032.

Queensland Governor Annastacia Palaszczuk said that this tour demonstrated the power of sports to inspire and connect people.

“We are a vast state, but we are also inclusive. This initiative aims to celebrate the positive role of sports in creating opportunities for Queensland youth,” Palaszczuk said.
