After two years of tie-in with her long-term partner, Australian bowler Megan Shute revealed that her wife is pregnant.

Australian cricketer Megan Shute revealed that her wife Jesse Hollyok was pregnant with their first child.

After two years of marriage, the couple will welcome a baby girl later this year, with the expected delivery date in early November.

“Jesse and I are so happy to finally spill the beans,” Shute tweeted on Sunday night.

“Jess is very happy with the mini, she is very lucky.”

Former Australia captain Lisa Sthalekar wrote on Twitter: “This is awesome…yippee.”

British cricketer Alexandra Hartley wrote: “Stop!!! Congratulations to both of you.”

Cricket reporter Adam Collins wrote on Twitter: “Awesome!!! Congratulations!!!”

New Zealand Deputy Captain Amy Satterthwaite commented: “Congratulations!! I’m so excited for you.”

Shute and Holyoke got married in March 2019, and the South Australian speed bowler called it “the best day of my life.”

Shute said in 2019: “It is good to say’partner’, but many times when I have to explain that I am a woman, I think it often causes a reaction, which is not very comfortable.

“Now we can (just) talk about wives, straightforwardly, and people know this is a deal.”

Since his debut in international competitions in 2012, Shute has represented Australia in 65 single-day matches and 73 T20 matches.

The 28-year-old has already won 204 international wickets and 74 scalps for the WBBL’s Adelaide forwards.

In Australia’s victorious 2020 T20 World Cup, she was the leading ticket collector, defeating India 4/18 in the final.
