Covid-19 in Sydney increased again, and two new local cases were recorded in the eastern suburbs of the city overnight.
The state recorded two new local cases before 8pm on Saturday, and two more community cases after 8pm. These cases will be officially recorded in Monday’s figures.
Since the outbreak caused by a limousine driver carrying international crew members, the number of Covid-19 clusters in Sydney has now risen to nine.
Of the two new cases announced on Sunday, one has been announced on Saturday.
A man in his 30s attended Westfield Bondi Junction, a dangerous place visited by patient zero.
Another case is the man’s family contact, who also participated in Westfield Bondi Junction.
Dr. Kerry Chant, Chief Health Officer of New South Wales, said: “The case is a man in his 30s who lives in the Sydney CBD but has been to Westfield Bondi Junction (and) he has been in the Wollongong area. a period of time.”
Another case was recorded after 8pm on Saturday night, and another case was confirmed on Sunday morning.
“After 8pm, we found a woman in her 50s from Sutherland Shire who was a close contact of the previously reported case and a family contact of the case,” said Dr. Shant.
“(The woman) has been in isolation, but there may be other worrying places.
“(Sunday morning) we received notification of another case. A man in his 50s was also from Sutherland Shire and was a close contact (of the previous case).”
She said that New South Wales Governor Gladys Berejiklian also announced that the state is expanding some restrictions because “it is important for all of us to maintain a high level of vigilance.”
Masks must now be worn in all indoor environments, and masks on public transportation will be extended to the local government areas of Wollongong and Shellharbour.
The New South Wales Department of Health is conducting an urgent investigation and is asking those who have visited Westfield Bondi Junction (including the car park) to be tested for Covid-19, even if they do not have any symptoms.

New South Wales Health Minister Brad Hazzard (Brad Hazzard) said that this highly contagious variant of Delta poses a real threat to Sydney residents.
Mr. Hazzard said that CCTV footage of how a person contracted the virus highlighted the highly contagious nature of the latest Covid-19 strain.
