Gavin Wood, creator of Polkadot and Kusama, has released a tentative schedule for the highly anticipated Kusama Parachain Slot auction.

According to a Blog post The first parachain auction period to be released on Tuesday will open on June 15th at 12 p.m. Central European Summer Time.

According to the approval of the Kusama Committee and other KSM stakeholders, the tentative timetable will end the first parachain auction before June 17, and the bidding period will last until June 22.

If the Kusama committee approves the timetable, the winner of the first parachain slot auction may appear at 11:00 am on June 22. The second Parachain slot machine auction will begin in an hour, and subsequent slot machine auctions will be conducted every other week according to Wood’s post.

After the first five weekly auctions, Wood recommends a pause to evaluate the performance of the network, and then another batch of five parachain slot auctions according to the above schedule.

As early as May, Cointelegraph reported that Kusama is finally ready to host the parachainAccording to Wood, the Kusama developers believe that there are no technical barriers to holding slot machine auctions or deploying parachains.

These auctions will determine which parachains are added to the Kusama relay chain, Polkadot’s canary network. Wood elaborated on the need to get the Kusama parachain up and running, “Kusama exists as the Polkadot canary network, so it helps protect Polkadot from serious problems by allowing functions to exist in the wild as long as possible,” added :

“Since the amount of protection it provides is proportional to the amount of time it was active before Polkadot, there is a clear reason for deploying this logic as soon as possible in the interests of Polkadot.”

According to reports, the week-long adjustment to initiate the process allowed the community enough time to cancel their Kusama (KSM) to fund auction bids.
