Ben Melham will return to the game after completing a five-month betting offence disqualification.

Top jockey Ben Melham will play three games for the first time in a betting suspension at Sale on Thursday.

Since December 12 last year, Melham has not been riding since his suspension in May He made a promise when he was injured and provided misleading evidence to the butler.

Melham said he is keen to put this episode behind and strive to get back to the top of the Melbourne Jockey Club team.

“I have enough time to reflect on this and learn from it,” Melham told the Herald Sun earlier this month.

“I am ready to move on and regain some of the beliefs I may have lost in the industry.

“It’s unfortunate. Of course I have learned a lesson, but if you learn something positive from it, it will be very beneficial to me, both mentally and physically.

“I’m really fit… I am passionate about participating in some village meetings and then attending again.”

The 17-time first group champion will be back in the first game of ALE by the well-trained Brazen Bully of Anthony and Sam Freedman.

TAB.com.au has posted Brazen Bully as a $5.50 opportunity, bringing perfect returns to Melham on Thursday.

Paul Preusker has booked Melham to ride Orleans Rock in Sale’s sixth race. Melham has won two championships on the rain-infested land of the son of Rock’N’Pop.

Mornington coach Shane Nichols has been served by Melham to participate in the penultimate game of the Sale conference.
