Australians love their whistle, and a new American pickup truck has arrived in Australia, ready to conquer the road.
Australia has a new powerful truck.
The brand new Ram 1500 pickup truck has already rolled off the assembly line and headed directly to the Australian highway.
Ram Truck Imported from the United States, and then converted to right-wheel drive at the local importer’s Melbourne plant.
This large American-style ute has undergone extensive testing overseas and locally, including a 20,000 km vehicle durability test at Victoria’s Anglesea Proving Ground.
The company has also taken these vehicles to various parts of Australia, and one of the vehicles has towed the heaviest weight during the entire 30,000 km trip.
Jeff Barber, manager of Ram Trucks Australia, is excited about the arrival of the new 1500 road on Australian roads.
Barber said: “The new 1500 DT marks the final result of our detailed planning, development, remanufacturing and testing programs with local and global partners including Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (USA).”
“With the new 2500 and 3500 coming later this year-and other exciting developments-2021 looks set to be a record year for RAM trucks in Australia.”
The Ram 1500 is priced at US$114,950 (excluding on-road fees), while the Laramie version and the Limited and Limited Launch Edition versions are priced at US$139,950 respectively.
This is a big asking price compared to smaller equipment such as Toyota HiLux and Ford Ranger, but the new 1500 is well equipped.
Power comes from a 5.7-liter Hemi V8 engine with a power of 291kW and 556Nm. The latest version is equipped with a 48-volt mild hybrid power unit, which can provide power for a variety of electrical functions to slightly reduce fuel consumption.
The engine also has cylinder deactivation technology, which shuts off the cylinder when it is not needed, which in turn helps reduce fuel consumption. Ram has not disclosed the fuel usage of 1500.
Traction is one of its advantages, with a maximum braking towing capacity of 4,500 kg.
The new 1500 comes with standard features, such as a 900-watt Harman Kardon stereo with subwoofer and active noise reduction.
The 12-inch central display is compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. There is a bird’s-eye view camera, which makes it easier to negotiate narrow spaces.
The 1500 is equipped with luxury items, such as a panoramic sunroof and leather seats that can be heated and cooled.
But if this doesn’t sound radical enough, A more powerful version of TRX will be launched soon.
The 1500 TRX uses a 6.2-liter giant V8 supercharged engine borrowed from the Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk, with a power of up to 520kW and 881Nm.
This weird engine can propel a large Grand Cherokee from 0-100 km/h in 4.5 seconds.
TRX also enhances off-road performance, increasing the ride height by 30 cm, enhanced suspension and large off-road tires.
