TikTok cooperates with Audius, an encrypted music streaming platform

Audius, a music sharing agreement, has become one of the main streaming media platforms cooperating with TikTok, allowing users to directly share tracks to their favorite apps.

In Monday’s announcement, Audius stated that it has partnered with TikTok to develop a new feature called TikTok Sounds. Consistent with Rolling Stone’s interview with Audius co-founder and chief product officer Forrest Browning, Mixer allows users to export songs created using the protocol to TikTok with one click to try out the method.

Although Audius claims that it is trying to use blockchain technology to further reward content creators in order to increase the transparency of payments to artists, the mix with TikTok seems to be additional content about music, rather than pushing information about cryptocurrency or suburban finance. Consistent with Browning, approximately 95% of Audius users “don’t even know that the blockchain will be followed.”

TikTok reported in July that its monthly active users are close to 1 billion, of which 75% of users mainly located in the United States have discovered new artists through the app. Audius currently has about 5 million monthly active users when it launches in October, and some of the governance tokens allocated to creators support the number of streams they generate. TikTok currently does not allow users to receive performance royalties from streaming music, but instead provides opportunities for contact and interaction with fans.

Considering that TikTok called for a ban on cryptocurrency-based promotional content in July as a “promotion of all currency services and products”, this integration is an amazing move for TikTok. Some users learned about the meme-based cryptocurrency Dogecoin (DOGE) from the TikTok video that created the round last year.
