Australia’s “cladding crisis” as many as 3,000 tall buildings are at risk of “hell”

Sky News host Peta Credlin said that in Australia, we have our own “cladding crisis,” and “more than three thousand” buildings are still facing potentially hellish risks similar to the 2017 Grenfell Tower fire in London.

Ms. Kredlin said: “According to expert reports, promised to spend millions of dollars to repair it, but it still did not happen.”

Ms. Credlin talked with Dr. Trivess Moore of RMIT University, the co-author of the report.

“You would think that events like Grenfell will quickly change and change the construction industry and regulations, and indeed develop some of the solutions needed to solve this cladding problem in Australia,” he said.

“However, I guess what we are seeing is some changes in regulation, providing some financial support-but most buildings with flammable cladding still retain the flammable cladding.”
