Car arrested after hitting a pedestrian on Blackpool Promenade, Blackpool

A man was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder because a car hit some pedestrians on the Blackpool promenade.

At 5:25 am on Saturday, the police received a call saying that a red Peugeot was approaching a small group of people near the North Pier.

The police arrived at the scene, the vehicle was followed, and then the vehicle was parked on a residential street when the driver fled the scene.

After searching the area, a 30-year-old man from Manchester was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and is still in custody.

The group of pedestrians also left the scene. It is not clear what their injuries are or whether they seek medical attention.

The police urged them to get in touch.

Inspector Abi Finch-Hall of the Lancashire Police Department said: “We want to ensure that pedestrians hit by vehicles are safe and safe and ask them to get in touch with us.

“Although the incident occurred very early, there were still a few pedestrians in the area.

“We believe there are still some witnesses who have not spoken to the police.
