Taliban claims to control Pakistani border crossing

The Taliban claimed through a spokesperson account on Twitter that it had controlled the border crossing between Afghanistan and Pakistan. A video posted through a Twitter account related to the spokesperson Zabihullah Mujahid showed that the Taliban flag was flying in the town of Spinboldak, which is separated from the town of Chaman, Pakistan. After the U.S. forces withdrew from Afghanistan, the organization made similar progress along the borders with Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Iran. Afghan officials disputed the Taliban’s claims, saying that the national army had launched a counterattack.
