Handy mare Ruby was a great moneymaker in many ways on Tuesday and could have an important victory at Rosehill on Saturday.

Portelli also believes that The Empire can transition to the Sydney Saturday class in the Cleanaway Handicap (1300m) midweek competition.

Porteli said that although Royalzel has limited experience in galloping against the trend, he believes the young man will deal with Flemington.
“Sydney horses tend to cope with Flemington better than other circuits in Melbourne,” Portley said.
