A former football star vented his frustration after two ugly cheap shots were met with completely different responses from the AFL.
Former North Melbourne star David King was confused by the game reviewer’s decision to suspend Zach Williams instead of Geelong defender Tom Stewart.
During Geelong’s 44-point loss to the Brisbane Lions, Stewart’s brain shook, and he pushed Brisbane’s Charlie Cameron’s head to the ground.

This incident is very similar to the incident in which Carlton recruit Zach Williams hit Adelaide’s Ben Keith’s head against the artificial turf on the border of Marvel Stadium.
Williams was suspended for a week for his behavior — MRO Michael Christian ruled the incident as “intentional behavior”, that is, “low impact, high contact” — but Stewart is at large.
King agreed with Williams on the sidelines for a week off, but he was confused as to why Stewart did not face the same penalty.
“Once you push someone’s head to the ground, it has nothing to do with the general game, it has nothing to do with football decisions, then I think you risk being suspended, I’m glad they have,” Kim told Mori breakfast.
“They are very similar (incidents). One is on the fake turf, and for me, it’s slightly elevated.
“I know this is the behavior and behavior you have to suspend. I am satisfied with the suspension of these two players.
“Everyone says,’Oh, but you want players to be eliminated all the time.’ Once you wipe them off once or twice, you send a message to 800 players saying that this will not be accepted and will not be tolerated , You will never see it again.
“I want to know why Stewart and Zach Williams are not in the same basket.”
Williams’ blow to Keith obscured his impressive efforts against Adelaide and caused the group’s anger during the AFL 360 show on Monday night.
“That’s not it,” said co-host Gerard Whateley.
“It’s really disappointing for Zach Williams,” added Mark Robinson of the Herald Sun.
“We have been under pressure throughout the week. We know this. We played very well on the weekend and now he has been sitting (absent) for a week.”
Geelong will return to victory this Friday against Essen, and Carlton will face Fremantle on Saturday.
