State of Origin Game 2: Ronaldo Mulitalo suspended, qualifying, New South Wales vs. Queensland

Just a few hours before the start of Origin Country II, a huge storm broke out. A star in Queensland will be suspended because he is not eligible.

According to reports, Ronaldo Mulitalo (Ronaldo Mulitalo) will be banned from participating in the second home game tonight after being ruled ineligible to play for the Queensland team.

The winger was brought into the starter yesterday as a substitute for injured guard Reese Walsh, but the Blues questioned his qualifications.

Dave Trodden of NSWRL told The Courier Post: “Because of a story that appeared on the QRL website, we are already concerned about Ronaldo Mulitalo’s qualifications.”

“Because of this issue, we have asked NRL about Ronaldo’s eligibility status and we are waiting for their response.”

Mulitalo was born in New Zealand and reportedly lived there until he was nearly 14 years old. The revised Origin Edible Rules approved in 2012 means that players need to live in New South Wales or Queensland before their 13th birthday to participate in Origin competitions.

Mulitalo has represented Queensland in under-18s and under-20s competitions, but the Daily Telegraph reported that he should not be allowed given his personal circumstances.

Brisbane Broncos winger Xavier Coates is an option to replace Mulitalo on the wing, after Valentine Holmes moved from the wing to the full back to cover the injured teenager Walsh.
