Victoria has joined South Australia to impose new restrictions on travellers from certain areas of Sydney, but Chief Health Officer Brett Sutton has delivered a tougher message.

Mr. Sutton announced these changes in a late-night update on Tuesday, declaring that the seven local government areas in New South Wales are “red areas” under the state’s travel permit system, which will take effect at 1 am on Wednesday.

Just when the health authorities identified several new and expanded potential Covid exposure sites The infected person visited last week, Including two flights and more Bondi hotspots.

The surge in the new crown virus outbreak in New South Wales shocked the state. Its eastern suburbs cluster increased to 21, and 10 new cases were announced on Monday.

Except for a mysterious case, almost all cases are connected; a primary school student in the east.

The jurisdiction of the local government of New South Wales is:

• City of Sydney

• Waverley

• Ullala

• Bayside

• Canada Bay

• Inner West

• Randwick

Victorian residents traveling within one of these red zones (except in transit) can obtain permission to re-enter the state, but they must be isolated at home for 14 days.

If you are a non-Victorian resident and have been in the red zone (except in transit), “You cannot enter Victoria”.

A statement from the Victorian Health Department said: “If you try to enter Victoria from the red zone without a permit, you will be deported.”

“If you enter the airport or seaport from the red zone without permission, you will be fined and will stay in the quarantine hotel until the return transportation is arranged.”

Mr. Sutton “strongly discourages” unnecessary travel to any part of Victoria, and warns that if you have been to the affected area, “you will not be able to obtain a permit to enter Victoria.”

“If you have symptoms, don’t travel-get tested.”

‘Orange area’

Victoria also listed the coastal city of Wollongong in southern Sydney as an “orange zone”, effective from 1am on Wednesday.

Health officials say that if you have been to the orange zone-or the orange zone designated before it became a red zone-you need an orange zone permit to enter Victoria. Permit holders in the orange zone must be quarantined, tested and kept in isolation upon arrival until they get a negative result.

South Australia

Anyone who has been to the Waverley Commission area or the Covid-19 exposure site has not been allowed to enter South Australia.

A statement from the South Australian Police read: “South Australians who have been to the location of the Covid-19 case in New South Wales or the Waverley City Council area within 14 days of arrival will continue to be restricted.”

Starting at midnight on Tuesday, the South Australian government will also tighten regulations for passengers from the Sydney local government areas Randwick, Bayside, Canadian Bay, Inner West, Sydney and Woollahra City Council.

These restrictions will apply to people who arrived anywhere after midnight at any time in the past 14 days (but not before June 11, 2021).

It does not apply to passengers arriving before midnight. After midnight, all passengers from these LGAs will comply with Level 3 requirements:

  • Unless Article 9 applies, no entry into a high-risk environment within 14 days of arrival

The Governor of South Australia, Steven Marshall (Steven Marshall) said that the authorities must make changes “in accordance with what is happening in New South Wales.”

“We are doing this to protect South Australia. We enjoy a high quality of life and a strong economy, which is currently the envy of many other places in the world,” he said on Monday.
