Police said that according to reports, multiple people were killed and injured on a railroad yard in California after a gunman shot at a union meeting.

During a week of deadly gun violence in the United States, many people were shot dead at a railroad yard in San Jose, California.

The Santa Clara County Sheriff’s agent Russell Davis said at a press conference that the shooting occurred before 7 a.m. Pacific time (12 a.m. Pacific Standard Time) and was sent from the city’s main airport. The nearby Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority (Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority) operates.

He confirmed that the shooter had died and the public was no longer in danger.

“I can’t determine the exact number of casualties. But I will tell you how many people were injured and many people died in this case,” he said.

After receiving a report from the “active shooter”, the police rushed to the light rail maintenance and dispatch field in San Jose. San Jose is the technology center of Silicon Valley, with a population of nearly one million.

KTVU reported that it was talking to the mother of an employee who said the shooting took place at a union meeting.

It is not clear whether the shooter was a worker at the facility, but the police said that some of the victims were employees of the location.

The local ABC News affiliate reported that the building is not open to the public, so the shooter will need employees to enter or break in.

The police did not immediately provide any details on how to kill the shooter or the type of weapon used.

Mr. Davis said that it is unclear whether the shooting occurred indoors or outdoors.

San Jose Mayor Sam Liccardo said that several people are being treated.

He tweeted: “We are heartbroken for the family members who lost their lives in this tragedy.”

Later, at a press conference, Mr. Liccardo called the massacre “a terrible day for our city” and was very frustrated. He vowed to “do everything possible to ensure that this does not happen again.”

At least 13 people were killed and 78 were injured in fatal shootings in 10 U.S. states before this.
