It may not be surprising to see me share another turkey turkey recipe. Meatloaf is one of my favorite dinner recipes. It is rich in protein and goes perfectly with many different side dishes. It can match any flavor I mix.
Our favorite is Italian Pillow Meatloaf, Mexican meatloaf, Cheeseburger Patties, Greek Meatloaf, And this Meatloaf with sausage, pepper and onion.
The reason you will like this recipe.
- Thin and delicious. Grated turkey and Italian poultry sausage make this recipe low in fat and calories, but still great flavor.
- Easy to prepare. Mix all the ingredients, knead into a dough, and bake!
- Do it in advance. I like meatloaf the most! It reheats very well, so make it for a week or frozen (raw or cooked) dinner on Sunday.
raw material

- Green peppers and white onions. I like to use green peppers, but any variety will do.
- garlic. For a little extra flavor.
- Turkey powder. I used lean 93/7 turkey powder in this recipe. I recommend buying high-quality organic (if you can) ground turkey for the best flavor.
- Poultry Italian sausage. Grated poultry sausages or links will work. If you use links, remove the crust before adding it to the meatloaf mixture.
- Egg. This is the main binder that holds the meatloaf ingredients together and gives it structure.
- Worcestershire sauce. I use Worcestershire sauce most of the time Turkey powder recipe, Especially meatloaf. It gives lean meat a richer meaty taste.
- Garlic powder, onion powder, Italian seasoning. My favorite Italian style recipe mix seasoning.
- Bread crumbs. Another ingredient that helps to hold the ingredients together to form bread. I use unseasoned regular breadcrumbs because I like to add seasonings. However, seasoned breadcrumbs will work. You can also use panko breadcrumbs. For gluten sensitivity, use gluten-free bread crumbs.
- Parmesan cheese. This grated cheese adds more flavor.
- Shredded mozzarella cheese. You can also use shredded provolone cheese or pizza mixes.
- Italian tomato sauce. Keep this recipe simple by using high-quality canned pasta sauces like Rao’s Marinara.Of course, if you have Homemade pasta sauce in the refrigerator Or refrigerator, and then use it.
common problem
You can, but I don’t recommend it. Peppers and onions release moisture during cooking, which can cause the meatloaf to become mushy or fall apart. Cook them before adding them to the meatloaf, not only to provide an excellent flavor, but also to lighten the liquid.
The mushy patties are probably the result of too much liquid in the vegetables or the turkey powder has been wet and mushy. If you notice that the mixture is soggy, add some extra breadcrumbs until it reaches the correct consistency and it easily forms a loaf.

Cooking skills
- You can replace it with ground beef and ground pork sausage. Grated turkey and poultry sausage keep this recipe lean, but you can easily make it with beef and pork.
- You can control the spiciness. Use medium or hot Italian sausage, depending on the calorie level you want. In addition, you can mix crushed red pepper flakes to get extra spices.
- Make sure to drain the vegetables. This step is essential, because too much liquid will produce a mushy meatloaf. After cooking, I use a slotted spoon to remove the vegetables from any liquid in the pot.
- If needed, add more breadcrumbs. If the meatloaf mixture looks too wet, or you have difficulty making it into bread, add just enough breadcrumbs to absorb the excess liquid.
- Chop the vegetables. This helps maintain the structure of the meatloaf, and you can eat vegetables in every bite.
- Cool the vegetables quickly. Pour the marila sauce on the cooked vegetables and let them cool quickly. Of course, you can make vegetables in advance and keep them in the refrigerator until you are ready to make patties.
- Other glaze options. Any type of pasta sauce will taste delicious, but if you go out, use the classic tomato sauce topping. Spread a cup of tomato sauce on the top of the meatloaf instead of the sauce. You can even replace it with the sauce in the meat mixture.
