Communicate with Metaverse

This episode is organized by Quantstamp, Nexo.io with Kucoin.

This week’s “Money Reimagined” podcast comes from Miami, where the annual Art Basel exhibition spawned a large number of non-fungible tokens (NFT) related chapters and parties.

There we met Piena Merino, Founder Flick to play, An exciting new application that combines real-world, camera-captured images and digital artifacts so that users can create and place geo-located NFT collections. It is best described as a merger of Pokémon GO with TikTok and NFT.

Co-hosts Michael Casey and Sheila Warren sat down with Merino to discuss her vision for the project. What has emerged is an interesting discussion about how we humans project our own “storyline” and how content generation technology allows the integration of digital and physical realms.

Merino’s background is a Venezuelan-born architect trained in the United States (as a physical architect, not a software engineer), which is part of the reason this conversation is so interesting. She tells how this sensitivity to physical space constraints shapes people’s creativity and self-expression of their lifestyle in the world.

What does all this have to do with money? Much more than you think.

With the addition of NFT, this combination of identity, user-generated content, and mixed physical digital content constitutes a new form of value creation and transaction.

This episode was produced and edited by Michele Musso, Adam B. Levine released an announcement, and Eleanor Pahl provided additional production support. Our theme song is “Shepard”.
