In the first month of 2022, both Bitcoin and Ethereum’s hash rate climbed to an all-time high (ATH). Bitcoin’s hash rate soared to 200 exahash per second (EH/s), while Ethereum’s hash rate jumped to over 1 petahash per second (PH/s). However, the hashrate of some mineable digital asset networks has declined as their ATH and the processing power behind these protocols have not returned to the highs they were long ago.
While some hash rates have soared, processing power from other crypto networks remains lackluster
At the time of writing, Bitcoin’s processing power is passing the 200 exahash per second (EH/s) region, After touching the ATH it captures January 15th. The six-month computing power statistics show that on Sunday, January 16, 2022, bitcoinThe hash rate hit a daily high of 216.50 EH/s.
On Monday, January 17th, the top three mining pools included F2pool, Foundry USA, and Antpool. All three mining pools have over 15% of the global hashrate or 29 EH/s.
The six-month and all-time indicators also indicate Monero The network hash rate also hit an all-time high, at around 3.49 gigahashes per second (GH/s) at press time.
Bitcoin’s network difficulty is expected to increase by 6.24% over the course of nearly four days, which would bring the network difficulty to an all-time high.It is estimated that the difficulty after the next epoch change will be 25.89 trillion, according to data at the time of writing.
Ethereum The network hash rate has also managed to stay within the 1 PH/s range after it was first achieved in December 2021.The top mining pool on the Ethereum network is ethermine.org, with a hash rate of 295 terahash per second, and Ethereum Nicehash has a hash rate of 3.66%.
While networks such as Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Monero have hit all-time highs, networks such as Litecoin have not seen a new hash rate ATH recently. LTCThe network hashrate on Sunday was 368.96 TH/s, but in the first week of July 2019, LTCThe hash rate of 468.50 TH/s mined ATH.
Today, Dash’s hash rate is around 5.24 PH/s, but in September 2020 it reached 7.14 PH/s. Overall, the network’s hashrate dropped by 26.61% in 16 months.
The Ethereum Classic network’s overall hash rate of 20.37 TH/s on Jan. 17 is lower than the network’s ATH of over 23 TH/s in June 2021.
What do you think of Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Monero’s recent hashrate highs? What do you think of a network that hasn’t come back to ATH a few months ago? Let us know what you think about this topic in the comments section below.
