How to increase the protein in oatmeal?

Half a cup of oatmeal contains 5 grams of protein, so I like to add more so that I can be full throughout the morning. Here are some ways to increase the amount of protein.

  • Egg white: The egg white in oatmeal is an easy way to add more protein. Not to mention, they make it super creamy, you can’t even taste them.
  • Protein shake: I use protein shakes instead of water or milk to enhance protein and flavor. Orgain’s Vanilla Bean Milkshake Is my favorite. You can also use powdered form, just follow the instructions to prepare and add.
  • Nuts: I put walnuts on the oatmeal to increase the crunchiness and protein.

Changes:

  • If you prefer to use powdered protein, follow the instructions to prepare and use 2/3 cup of powder.
  • Use a chocolate protein shake to change the flavor. Or, if you don’t want to use a protein shake, you can add 2/3 cup of your favorite milk.
  • Chopped pecans or almonds to make walnuts
  • Replace maple syrup with agave or honey.
