South Africa team captain Temba Bavuma said that before the Indian Tour later this month, he is confident in the biosafety protocol established by the country’s Cricket Committee (CSA).

“Playing cricket in the BSE is a huge challenge for everyone involved… CSA must be commended for the way it treats BSE.”

South Africa’s test captain Dean Elgar said that despite the mental loss in the bubble, the players have accepted the need for a strict agreement. Elgar said: “This has an impact on the players’ psychology, but this team continues to achieve good results and make progress-I personally think that this matter has not been talked about enough.”
“We don’t know how long we will operate like this, but it is great to know that when the tour group arrives, the health and safety of all participants is the top priority.”
On Tuesday, the Netherlands’ ODI tournament against South Africa was postponed, and the Zimbabwe Women’s Cricket World Cup qualifier was also cancelled after a new variant was discovered.
