Ronda Rousey is heading to WrestleMania for the same event three years after her last WWE match. Rousey was a surprise, but rumored, at the 2022 Royal Rumble at the American Center Dome in St. Louis, Missouri. She entered the Women’s Royal Rumble as 28th out of 30 entrants.

Wearing the new ring gear, Rousey got the loudest applause at Saturday night’s game. The former UFC Women’s Bantamweight and Raw Women’s Champion added the Royal Rumble champion to her list of accomplishments by knocking out SmackDown Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair to win the fight. Rousey eliminated several other superstars in the Rumble, including Nikki ASH and Brie Bella.

“Rowdy” Rousey has now won a World Championship at WrestleMania. Currently, the SmackDown champion is Flair and Becky Lynch is the Raw Women’s champion. The end of the Women’s Royal Rumble match teased that Flair vs. Rousey was the most likely direction.

The Rumble Champion last competed in WWE on April 7, 2019, at WrestleMania 35. She competed as the Raw Women’s Champion, losing the title in a triple threat match against Becky Lynch and SmackDown Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair. Lynch overpowered Friar in the game. Rousey has never been pinned or submitted in the seven years since his debut.

The match welcomed many other women’s wrestlers of the past. However, Rousey’s will most likely lead to a long-term partnership with the company. Melina, Kelly Kelly, Michelle McCool, Cameron, Ivory (depicting her censorship stunt), Brie Bella, Impact Knockouts World Champion Mickie James, Alicia Fox, Summer Rae, Nikki Bella, Sarah Logan, Lita and Mighty Molly Holly have all become Rare appearance.
