Rizwan, Beaumont named ICC T20 Cricketer of the Year

Pakistan’s wicketkeeper-batter Mohammad Rizwan and England’s Tammy Beaumont were named ICC T20 Cricketers of the Year on Sunday.

Rizwan, in the shortest form of the game, scored 1,326 points in 29 games with an average of 73.66 and a strike rate of 134.89.

Apart from his exploits in the bat, he was solid behind the stumps and played a key role in Pakistan’s 2021 T20 World Cup semi-finals. Ridzwan ended up being the third-highest scorer in the game.

At the beginning of the year, Rizwan also scored his first T20I century of his career against South Africa in Lahore. In his last T20 of 2021, he scored 87 against West Indies in Karachi.

Beaumont was also her team’s top scorer in this year’s T20Is.
