Let the hype, exaggeration and general madness begin. The most anticipated series of cricket in the world is approaching Ashes time.
On Saturday morning, the first group of English cricketers arrived at Brisbane Airport and began a 14-day quarantine at the Gold Coast luxury resort, nearly a month before the first ash test in Australia.
Players and staff must be strictly separated in their rooms for three days, but they can then be trained in nearby stadiums. You can also take advantage of the facilities provided by the resort, including two championship golf courses and tennis courts.

After returning from the 2020 World Cup in the United Arab Emirates, Australian players will also be quarantined in the same resort. The rest of the England T20 team, including Jonny Bairstow and Jos Butler, will also arrive after the T20 Championship.
‘Solved amicably’
“I think it has been settled amicably and everyone is dealing with it as much as possible under changing circumstances,” England captain Joe Root said before leaving England.
“And we are very grateful for the opportunity to stay there under our existing conditions.”
Root, all-rounder Ben Stokes, batter Rory Burns and spin bowlers Jack Leach and Dom Bess all arrived on Saturday and they will stay in Down Under for 10 weeks. Stokes only recovered from a finger injury last month and took time to prioritize his mental health before joining the England team.

On the bright side, England players will have the longest time before the Ashes series to adjust to the heat and humidity of the subtropical southeast of Queensland and get used to the early morning daylight. Since Queensland is not in the daytime, the day will be brighter from 4:30 am to 5 am, and the bird will try to wake up the sleeping person one hour in advance.
No special considerations
It was only recently that Australia closed its borders when the vaccination rate against COVID-19 rose to a level deemed acceptable by the government, and the number of people who are now fully vaccinated is close to 80%. England players did not receive any special consideration when they were quarantined upon arrival.

The England team will have two teams in Australia, including the English Lions reserve team, which will play a three-day warm-up match against the England test team in Redlands, Brisbane from November 23rd to 25th. And the four-day Oval in Ian Healy, also in Brisbane, from November 30th to December 3rd.
The first test will begin in Gabba, Brisbane on December 8th, and the second test will be held in Adelaide from December 16th to 20th. The third test was in Melbourne on December 26-30, the fourth was in Sydney on January 5-9, and the last test was in Perth on January 14-18.
The Perth test requires further negotiations with Western Australian officials on current quarantine restrictions, which may still be in effect in mid-January.
Australia owns the Ashes, beating England in Australia in 2017-18, and then staying the Ashes in the 2019 England Series draw.
