After his term ends on December 31, Lance Klusener will not seek to extend the position of head coach of Afghanistan.
The former South Africa international has been the head coach of Afghanistan since 2019 and issued a statement on Monday that he will quit his job in Afghanistan.
“After two years in the team, I will take away some unforgettable moments,” Cruzena said. “When I leave the Afghan cricket team and its cricket structure, I look forward to the next stage of my coaching career and the opportunities it will bring,” the experienced coach added.
Recently, under the coaching of Cruzena, the Afghan team participated in the T20 World Cup in the United Arab Emirates.
