Tennis fans feast their eyes because Coco Goff and Venus Williams plan to play doubles at the French Open. This 17-year-old and 40-year-old duo is an unexpected addition to the Paris doubles match.

The news of their entry was announced on Sunday.

They will play together in the first game on Wednesday, June 2. They will face No. 13 seeds Alan Perez and Zheng Saisai in the first round. This is the first time they have become teammates in a Grand Slam tournament.

Although they are not teammates, they have played against each other in the majors, and Goff beat Williams twice. The young tennis star defeated the veteran at the 2019 Wimbledon and the 2020 Australian Open.

Williams has doubles experience and won 14 Grand Slam doubles titles with his sister Serena Williams. Venus also has seven major singles titles.

In 2020 and 2021 in Australia, Gove and her partner Katie McNally reached the doubles quarterfinals.

This year’s French Open, Xie Suwei and Mertens are the No. 1 seeds. The French Open began on May 30 and will end on June 13.
