Zaha had the opportunity to grow up under Hodgson’s leadership and praised the former England manager for his professional contribution.
Zaha said on Twitter: “This has been an eventful four years, and I would like to take this opportunity to thank Roy for everything.”
“Your wisdom has given me a lot of understanding of who I am as a man and a football player. Thank you for everything, and I wish all the best in the future.
Hodgson also hinted that he could retire from football, which brought him fame, honor, and player and manager titles.
Hodgson said: “It’s time to get rid of the severe test of the top Premier League.”
“A thing that you never know. When you are still satisfied with yourself, it is a dangerous thing to start making bold remarks about retirement.
“Of course I will not leave the idea of Crystal Palace and put myself back on the market to find another job.
“I have indeed been away from football for a while, but who knows what the future will be? This is a moment that will never be said.
“I have seen so many people retiring with fanfare, only to surface again in a relatively short time. I don’t want to do this.
“I look forward to spending a little more time with my wife and son, maybe listening to what they want to do at a time, because this hasn’t happened much in the past 50 years.”
Zaha will hope to help Hodgson win the remaining matches against Asenal and Liverpool, thus ending his time at the Palace.
In other dazzling international performances, Ivory Coast has scored 11 goals in the scripted season and provided two assists for the Eagles in 28 league games.
