Shaban: Why Salah should stay in Liverpool

The former Arsenal goalkeeper urges the Egypt international to carefully consider his next move

According to former Arsenal goalkeeper Ramishaban, Mohamed Salah should continue to stay in Liverpool, and he believes that the popular striker should stay where he is.

Since joining the Red Army in Rome, Salah has achieved extraordinary success at Anfield, helping Jurgen Klopp’s team win the Champions League in June 2019.

Then they succeeded in the UEFA Super Cup and FIFA Club World Cup, and the record-breaking Premier League championship helped them end their 30-year top league glory.

In addition, the Egypt international has always been Liverpool’s main source of goals, scoring 125 goals in 203 games in all competitions.

Although the Premier League Golden Boot was won by Harry Kane, the two-time African Player of the Year has no shortage of suitors, but Shaban said that Salah should stay with the six-time European champion team.

“It’s better for Salah to stay in Liverpool,” Shaban told OnTime Sport TV Jinfu.

“Liverpool fans like Salah. I hope Salah will stay at the club even if he receives an offer from Paris Saint-Germain, because England has a better game than France.

“In one case the situation will be different, and that is if he receives an offer from a La Liga team and we are talking about Real Madrid or Barcelona here.”

Shaban, who was selected by the Gunners as a substitute for David Seaman, also hopes that the 28-year-old can cooperate with the Giants at the Emirates Stadium.

“I hope Salah can join Arsenal before moving to Chelsea. Salah’s style suits Arsenal,” he added.

Despite opening the door for the transfer, Salah is still a very popular figure at Anfield, and supporters call him the club’s player of the season.

The captain of the Pharaohs team expressed happiness after winning the award, although he admitted that Klopp’s team did not meet the required standards in the 2020-21 season.

“Of course, I am very happy to win this award, especially because it was voted by the fans, but winning our last game and qualifying for the Champions League is the most important thing,” Salah said The official website of the club.

“I think I played well this season, but it’s not about me — it’s about the team. For us as a team, I think if we have fans in the stadium, our position, our situation, It will be much better. This season we have suffered a lot because we missed the fans.

“So I am very happy that we played with the fans in the last game of the season. I am very happy to see them back on the court.”
