The former Brazilian star was impressed by the German striker despite his poor performance in front of goal this season
Former Chelsea star Oscar hopes Timo Werner can respond to his criticism by making changes in the Champions League final.
The German international faced criticism during most of his first season in the Blues, and the 25-year-old tried to reach the heights he reached during RB Leipzig.
Since joining Chelsea, Werner has scored 12 goals in all competitions, including 4 of 11 Champions League appearances. Oscar hopes that he can become the main player in the game against Manchester City on Saturday night.

Oscar believes that the 25-year-old has performed well and can win the favor of Chelsea fans with a decisive goal against Manchester City in Portugal on Saturday.
“This is a game determined by small details. Of course, I will cheer for Chelsea, so I will score 1-0…with a lot of pain,” Oscar said the goal .
“I want to see Werner score [that wins the game] Because he was criticized, but he knew how to play, he did the right thing, and he played well.
“Unfortunately, sometimes the ball can’t be scored, but he plays very well, I hope he scores [decisive] the goal [in the final].”
Is De Bruyne the best player in the Champions League?
Oscar will watch Guardiola’s city as one of his former Chelsea teammates in the final.
Despite failing to achieve results in Chelsea’s two years, Kevin De Bruyne performed well in Manchester.
Oscar, who has played for the London club for five years, believes that De Bruyne is arguably the best midfielder in the world.
“The situation in De Bruyne is very similar to [Mohamed] Salah. They came to Chelsea, but there are other players who may be more confident and play better,” he said of the Belgian star’s struggles at Stamford Bridge.
“Confidence sometimes helps you play better. He left Chelsea and played very well in Germany, and his confidence is back. I can’t even use words to describe his performance at Manchester City. He is the best in the world. One of the midfielders…maybe the best.”
He added: “It’s difficult to appoint just one [best player in the Champions League]De Bruyne is one of Manchester City’s best players. He played very well and performed well in the semifinals against Paris Saint-Germain.
“We also have Neymar and Kelly Ann Mbappé, and they have done a good job. Chelsea are more like a group. I think they don’t have that person… Maybe it’s Ngorokante. But I think De Browne is the first step before those guys.”
